Orchestrator reduces the headache when your deliveries aren’t accepted
Managing and tracking what happens next when a delivery is turned away and dealing with the associated customer charging can be a real headache and administrative burden. It's easy for you to waste valuable resource time and lose precious revenue while you try to reschedule delivery.
Orchestrator now includes a comprehensive set of functionality to take the pain out of this common occurrence and ensure that you don’t lose valuable revenue. Obviously you’ve all experienced the problem – here is an example from one of our clients:
Losing money when delivering a pallet of crisps to a prison:
-
Customer had not followed the correct procedure for the prison and notified the gatehouse that the delivery would be arriving. Delivery arrives and is turned away for this reason
-
Delivery is re-booked for the next day and re-planned. Delivery refused again as the driver is carrying no identification – e.g. a driver’s license.
-
Delivery is re-booked and re-planned for the third time and is finally accepted.
Three times the cost?
Through the Debrief process, consignments can be marked as 'turned away' and information recorded as to the reason why, where the consignment is to be taken to and a date and time entered for redelivery. The consignment is then available for re-planning, ensuring that a redelivery is organised.
The planners and other users have access to the information recorded about the attempted delivery, so that they can ensure the same thing doesn’t happen again.
When it comes to talking to the customer about an additional charge an audit trail of information is available to back up the claim so that you can quickly deal with customer billing queries and ensure you collect the extra revenue.
