Who are we?
We are the providers of a software suite called Orchestrator. Orchestrator has been designed from the ground up to meet the demands of your business today and in the future, as it operates as an integrated part of a
modern supply chain.
As a third party road transport business manager you are acutely aware of the day-to-day challenges that are inherent in a high-pressure and operationally complex environment. As a technology expert we are surprised by the software that we often find you using and the small amount of
value that you get out of it.
History
In 2004 our sister company P1 Technology Partners, an established systems integrator and IT services provider, began a business change project, which involved working closely with a 150 unit road transport business. We started with little knowledge of the industry and brought new ideas and fresh thinking to the problems . We
married our software development and systems integration expertise with that of a passionate industry expert,
who understood his business intimately and who also felt that the right software was core to future success.
In 2006 the directors of P1 decided to research the market potential of the software. We visited 45 different road transport businesses over a six month period. Some of our key findings were:

Most had an existing core software system and most were using one of two or three common solutions

Many just used their software for order capture and invoicing, using an array of paper, spreadsheets and ad-hoc databases for everything from planning to pallet control

Given the high-pressure environment, we were surprised to find that several had to stop using their system for an hour each day so that it could be backed up

Most were incurring high costs for hardware, ISDN lines and license upgrades

Many were paying for extra modules and optional functionality that seemed to be core to the requirements of any road transport business

The majority were not satisfied with their software or the service from their provider
Off the back of this reserach Orchestrator Limited was launched with a mission to provide a complete software solution and high end service to an industry that had suffered poor service and low value solutions for too long. We see the key to our succes being the proactive involvement of our customers and users in a community approach to our product development .
